Navy sailor kills two workers, before killing himself at Pearl Harbor

U.S. Navy Rear Admiral Robert Chadwick said the shooter came from the USS Columbia, a submarine that was in Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard dry dock for maintenance. He fatally shot two and injured another civilian worker. Mayor Kirk Caldwell s issued a statement saying, “We share in the sorrow of today’s tragic shooting at the Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and are thankful for the actions of our federal and state partners, as well as the city’s first responders who rushed to the scene, which includes personnel from HPD, HFD, and emergency services. The Medical Examiner’s Office is assisting the military with its investigation, and if additional city resources are needed, we stand ready to provide additional help.”
